Welcome to relax with yoga
My yoga class is for people of all levels of health and experience. In counselling I work with people experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, grief and loss issues, difficulty managing change and people with a history of trauma.
I am a psychologist and yoga teacher with experience in health research, private practice and education. My counselling approach has an emphasis on mindfulness-based techniques, in addition to other approaches such as cognitive behaviour therapy. My aim is to help people develop tools to manage their health and feel more at peace with themselves.
I provide counselling two days a week at UFS Medical, level 1, 40 Bridge Mall, Ballarat. I also consult on Saturday mornings at 202 Doveton St Nth, Ballarat. People with a mental health care plan from their GP are eligible for a medicare rebate. Its a good idea to book a double appointment with your GP to discuss your health care plan. Please get in touch if you would like to know more. To make an appointment for counselling, call UFS Medical on 5327 0420.

"Lisa caters for the individual. Her classes are welcoming, relaxing and most importantly, they build physical and mental wellbeing." Amanda, University of Ballarat
"I left feeling empowered and with knowledge that can be incorporated into my program and with communication with parents. Lisa showed us yoga which we can teach the children to provide them with some calm, strategies to re-energize during the day and how to reflect on our own wellbeing to ensure we are happy and healthy." Rowan View Kinder Staff, Ballarat
Meditation and Relaxation CD
“I love this CD. I’ve listened to others and the voices can be annoying. This one is different; very calming and relaxing. Best nights sleep I’ve had in over a year. If I wake up in the night and can't get back to sleep, I just listen to it a second time" Denise, Mildura.
The CD can be downloaded from www.cdbaby.com
There are plans underway for recording a new CD in 2016.

"What we practice we get good at, whether it be getting stressed or finding peace of mind. Knowing oneself is the first thing. Without knowing our Self first we cannot and will not truly understand the nature of stress, nor can we obtain the lasting happiness or freedom which we are searching for.”
Dr Craig Hassed, Mindfulness consultant, Monash University
