Benefits of Yoga

Yoga can lead to many positive changes. In addition to increased flexibility and strength, we become more in tune with our body and develop greater understanding of our mind.

If we are stressed, our breathing can be shallow and sometimes quite fast. In yoga we learn breathing techniques such as abdominal breathing and full yogic breathing. These techniques allow us to consciously control the breath, slow it down and breathe more easily and deeply.

Regular yoga practice increases self-awareness. For example, awareness of the need to nurture ourselves and take time out for ourselves. In our busy lives, yoga can help us stay positive and have a healthy mind.
